My personal favorite of all my Audio work. Most night scenes in games and films consists of just crickets. I wanted more than that from this landscape. I wanted to capture the feeling of loneliness and smallness next to the power of nature. Like in the setting of this world. The control that Technology once had over this planet, and then it's loss to nature reclaiming what it was always in control over
Nar Shaddaa was like a planet version on Las Vegas. I built the Planets ambience to be almost like a waste land. No life, no way to grow anything. The only sounds are storms and traffic. I wanted the stark contrast of a violent unhospitable world trying to draw you in and keep you distracted.
The "casino" feel to the world was done with emitters so when the player got away from the action they were almost aware of how bad the planet was. Just to hear the allure of another area as they moved forward
This was one of the starting planets I built on SWTOR. This video shows how I used volumes to transition from and outside ambience to an interior populated area
